Radiofrequency Microneedling

RF Microneedling in Manhattan, NYC

$299 60 Minutes

Glass Skin Microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to work below the surface on scarring, pores and texture. It is a treatment rather than a facial, which is why it reaches what topical work cannot.

What It Is

Two technologies doing one job

Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin. Those tiny, deliberate injuries trigger the body's own repair response, which is why the technique is also known as collagen induction therapy. Radiofrequency adds heat energy at a set depth, and that combination does noticeably more than needling alone.

The result is a non-surgical treatment aimed at rejuvenating skin, softening the look of wrinkles and scars, and improving overall texture. Because it works at depth rather than on the surface, it reaches indented acne scarring and enlarged pores that no facial will fix.

This is a treatment, not a facial. There is no cleanse, mask or massage stage. If you want the facial experience with a glow at the end, our Glass Skin Medical Facial is the one to book. Many clients alternate between the two.

What It Treats

Concerns microneedling works on

The settings are adjusted to your skin and to which of these you are here for.

Acne scarring

Indented and rolling scars respond to collagen remodelling in a way that no surface treatment matches.

Enlarged pores

Firmer surrounding tissue makes pores look tighter, particularly across the nose and cheeks.

Fine lines

Collagen support softens early lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead without freezing movement.

Skin laxity

Radiofrequency heat is the part that addresses firmness along the jawline and cheeks.

Uneven texture

Roughness and irregular surface even out as the skin rebuilds over the following weeks.

Dullness

New collagen and cell turnover leave skin looking brighter once the initial redness has settled.

Individual results vary. Scarring in particular usually needs a course rather than a single session, and we will tell you that at your assessment.

Inside the Appointment

What happens during your 60 minutes

01
Assessment and consent

Your practitioner examines the skin, confirms the areas being treated and goes through what to expect. Depth and energy settings are chosen here.

02
Cleanse and numbing

The skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied. This needs time to work properly, which is part of why the appointment is a full hour.

03
The treatment pass

The handpiece moves across the treatment area in sections. You feel pressure and warmth rather than sharpness. Most people describe it as tolerable rather than painful.

04
Calm and protect

A soothing serum and barrier support are applied, then SPF. You leave with written aftercare for the next 48 hours.

Good to know before you book

  • This is treatment only. No cleanse ritual, mask or massage stage
  • Topical numbing is included and applied before the pass begins
  • Expect mild redness and some swelling for one to two days
  • Most concerns need three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart
  • Deeper remodelling is available as RF microneedling with PRP
  • Not suitable during active breakouts or infection in the treatment area

If your skin is not in the right condition on the day, we will reschedule rather than treat. That call is made at the assessment.

Is It Right For You

Who books microneedling

  • You have acne scarring that has not improved with skincare or facials
  • Pores across the nose and cheeks look larger than they used to
  • Texture is uneven and makeup no longer sits smoothly over it
  • You want firmness along the jaw without injectables
  • You are willing to take a short course rather than expecting one visit to do it
  • You can plan around one to two days of mild redness

If you need visible results tomorrow with no redness at all, book a Glass Skin Medical Facial instead. We will say so honestly rather than take the booking.

Recovery

What the next few days look like

Microneedling carries more downtime than a facial. Knowing the pattern makes it easy to plan around.

1
Day of treatment

Skin looks flushed, similar to mild sunburn, and feels warm and tight. Keep it simple: barrier cream and nothing else.

2
Day one to two

Redness fades and some swelling may show, particularly around the eyes. Most people are comfortable in makeup by day two.

3
Day three to seven

Skin may feel dry or slightly rough as the surface turns over. This is normal and settles without intervention.

4
Week four onwards

Collagen remodelling is gradual. Texture and scarring keep improving for weeks after the session, which is why results are judged at four weeks rather than four days.

Aftercare that actually matters. No saunas, steam rooms or hot workouts for 48 hours. No retinol, acids or scrubs for a week. Daily SPF is not optional after microneedling, because fresh skin pigments easily and that is how good work gets undone.

Call us if anything feels unusual. We would far rather hear from you early than find out at your next visit.

Common Questions

Microneedling, answered honestly

Does microneedling hurt?

Topical numbing is applied before the treatment pass begins, and most clients describe the sensation as pressure and warmth rather than sharpness. The radiofrequency element adds heat, which some people notice more around the forehead and jaw. You can ask us to pause at any point.

How many sessions will I need?

Three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart suits most concerns, and scarring in particular. Some people see enough from one. Your practitioner gives you a real number at the assessment rather than selling a fixed package.

How long is the downtime?

Expect redness like mild sunburn on the day, fading over one to two days, with some swelling possible. Most clients are comfortable in makeup by day two. Plan the treatment at least a week before anything important.

When will I see results?

Surface brightness shows within a week, but the real change is collagen remodelling, which is gradual. Texture and scarring keep improving for several weeks after each session. Judge it at four weeks, not four days.

Is this the same as RF microneedling with PRP?

The technology is the same. RF Microneedling with PRP at $799 adds platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood, which supports healing and pushes the remodelling further. This treatment at $299 is the RF microneedling on its own.

Can it be combined with a facial?

Not in the same appointment. The skin needs to settle first. Many clients book a Glass Skin Medical Facial in the weeks between microneedling sessions, which works well.

Is it safe for darker skin tones?

Radiofrequency microneedling is generally better tolerated across skin tones than light-based devices, because it does not target pigment. Settings are still adjusted at the assessment, and diligent SPF afterwards matters more, not less.

Who performs the treatment?

Microneedling is carried out by licensed clinical staff, with injectable and PRP treatments performed by a registered nurse under medical direction. Every appointment starts with an assessment, and if the treatment is not appropriate that day we will say so before starting.
