Why We Exist
Most people arrive overtreated
Many of our clients come to us after years of treatments they were sold rather than recommended. Their skin barrier is often damaged from over-exfoliation and a shelf of products that work against each other.
So every visit starts with an examination under examination light, and the protocol is chosen for you. Two people booking the same treatment can have quite different sessions. Sometimes the honest advice is a smaller treatment, or fixing your home routine first.
That is the idea behind Skin Lab Clinic: we would rather keep you for years than sell you one booking that does not suit you. Not sure where to start? Our $150 consultation is credited toward same-day treatment.
How We Work
Things that do not change
Whichever treatment you book and whoever treats you, these standards stay the same.
Assessment before anything opens
Hydration, barrier, texture and pigment are examined, and your products, medications and reactions reviewed.
A price before treatment
Facial prices are fixed and published. Injectables are quoted after assessment. Nothing is added at checkout.
Explanation as we go
Each step is explained while it happens. If we skip one, we tell you why.
An honest interval
You leave with a written plan and a realistic next date, which may be later than you expect.
One skincare line, used properly
Working with La Prairie means our facial protocols stay consistent from one visit to the next.
Referral when it is needed
Anything outside what a med spa should treat goes to a dermatologist or your own doctor.

You will always know who is treating you before you book. Treatments at Skin Lab are split by type, so each one is carried out by the right person.
Performed by our aesthetic team, following the La Prairie protocols for the Signature, Advanced, Platinum and Glass Skin facials.
Performed by a licensed provider of Michael Meighen, MD, NY, PLLC, the professional practice that provides medical treatments at Skin Lab.
Led by our clinical team, focused on a plan for your skin rather than a sale.
Concerns that need a diagnosis are referred to a dermatologist.

Why La Prairie
Our medical facials are built on La Prairie's Swiss skincare. The Skin Caviar line runs through the Signature, Advanced and Platinum protocols as the foundation of the treatment, not an add-on at the end.
Working with one line means every step is designed to work with the next, so your results are consistent from visit to visit. The Glass Skin Medical Facial adds a collagen mask, LED recovery and Hermès finishing touches, and it is the treatment our clients return to most.
The Clinic
Inside the Bristol Medical Building
Skin Lab is a private medical suite on East 55th Street, between First and Second Avenue. It is a working medical building, not a retail unit on a shopping street.
- Private suites. Suites 106 and 109, with no shared treatment rooms.
- Medical setting. Calm, clean and clinical, with the comfort of a spa.
- Open seven days. 9AM to 8PM, so evenings and weekends are easy.

About Skin Lab, answered honestly
What is a med spa, and how is it different from a dermatologist?
A med spa offers aesthetic treatments that go deeper than a day spa, such as medical facials, microneedling, PRP and injectables. It improves how skin looks but does not diagnose skin disease. If you need a dermatologist, we will tell you.
Who performs the treatments?
Facials are performed by our aesthetic team. Microneedling, injectables and PRP are performed by a licensed provider of Michael Meighen, MD, NY, PLLC. You will know who is treating you before you book.
Do you offer laser or IV therapy?
No. Skin Lab focuses on medical facials, microneedling, injectables, PRP and skin boosters. If laser is genuinely the right answer for your concern, we will say so.
How much do treatments cost?
Facials range from $299 to $899, and every price is listed on our services page. Injectables are quoted at consultation. You always know the price before treatment.
It is my first visit. What should I book?
If you know what you want, book it directly. If not, the $150 Health Rejuvenation Consultation maps out a plan, and the fee is credited toward an eligible same-day treatment.
