Clinic
A medical spa inside the Bristol Medical Building on East 55th Street. We assess skin properly before treating it, and we treat what it needs rather than what sells.
Suites 106 & 109
Why We Exist
Most people arrive overtreated
The pattern is familiar. Someone comes in having spent two years and a considerable amount of money on treatments that were sold rather than recommended. Their barrier is wrecked from over-exfoliating, they are using nine products that fight each other, and the thing actually bothering them was never addressed.
Skin Lab Clinic was set up to work the other way around. Every appointment starts with an assessment under examination light, because you cannot plan a treatment for skin you have not properly looked at. From there the protocol is chosen for what is in front of us, which is why two people booking the same treatment often have quite different sessions.
Sometimes the honest answer is a smaller treatment than the one you booked. Sometimes it is to fix your home routine first and come back in six weeks. We would rather say that and keep you for years than take one booking that does not work. If you are not sure where to begin, the consultation exists for exactly that.

How We Work
Four things that do not change
Whichever treatment you book, whether that is a medical facial, Botox, dermal fillers or PRP, this is the part that stays the same.
Hydration, barrier condition, texture and pigment, examined properly. Your products, medication and reaction history reviewed. This is where the protocol gets decided, not at the booking stage.
Facials are fixed and published. Injectables are quoted after assessment and before anything is administered, because unit and syringe counts depend on your face. Nothing is added at checkout.
You are told what each step does while it happens rather than afterwards. If a step is being skipped because your skin cannot take it, you will know why.
You leave with a written plan and a realistic date for the next visit, including when that answer is to wait longer than you expected.

Our Team
Who treats you
Facials and microneedling are carried out by our clinical aesthetic staff. Injectable and PRP treatments are performed by a registered nurse under medical direction, and you will know who is treating you before anything is booked.
Consultations are led by a clinical research background rather than a sales one, which shapes how recommendations are made here. Injectables, skin boosters and scalp PRP are all nurse-administered. If something is outside what a medical spa should be treating, you will be told to see a dermatologist instead.
Team profiles coming shortly. Full names, credentials and photographs for our Medical Director and clinical staff will be published on this page. Replace this block once that list is supplied.
Swiss Partnership
Why La Prairie
Our medical facials are built on La Prairie's Swiss skincare, and the Skin Caviar line runs through the Signature, Advanced and Platinum protocols. It is not offered as an upgrade at the end of a treatment; it is what the treatment is made of.
Working with a single serious line rather than a shelf of products means the protocols are consistent and your practitioner knows exactly how each formulation behaves on different skin. That is worth more than variety.
Our Glass Skin Medical Facial extends that with collagen stimulation, LED recovery and Hermès finishing touches, which is the treatment most of our clients come back for.

The Clinic
Inside the Bristol Medical Building
A private medical suite rather than a spa room, on East 55th Street between First and Second Avenue.

Suites 106 and 109, just off the lobby. No shared rooms and no queue in a corridor.

A working medical building rather than a retail unit, which sets the standard we hold ourselves to.

Nine in the morning to eight in the evening, so appointments fit around work rather than the reverse.
Client Reviews
What clients say
Amazing executive gentleman's facial. The staff was welcoming, professional, and made the entire experience relaxing. My skin felt refreshed and looked great afterward.
I literally got glass skin after my treatment. My skin has never looked so smooth, hydrated, and glowing. The staff was incredibly professional and truly cares about your skin.
Booked the signature facial before a wedding and the difference was visible the same day. They explained what each step was doing instead of rushing through it.
Common Questions
About the clinic
What is a med spa, and how is it different from a dermatologist?
A medical spa offers aesthetic treatments that go deeper than a day spa, delivered by licensed clinical staff. A dermatologist diagnoses and treats skin disease. We improve how skin looks and behaves; we do not diagnose conditions. If what you have needs a dermatologist, you will be told to see one.
Who performs the treatments?
Facials and microneedling are carried out by clinical aesthetic staff. Injectable and PRP treatments are performed by a registered nurse under medical direction. You will know who is treating you before anything is booked.
Do you offer laser treatments or IV therapy?
No. We offer medical facials, injectables, PRP and skin boosters. We would rather do a smaller range properly than list everything, and if laser is genuinely the right answer for your concern we will tell you that.
How much do treatments cost?
Facials run from $299 to $899 and every price is published on our services page. Injectables are quoted at consultation because unit and syringe counts depend on your face. You always have the figure before treatment.
Is this my first time? What should I book?
If you know what you want, book it directly. If you are weighing several options, the Health Rejuvenation Consultation at $150 maps out a plan, and the fee is applied toward an eligible treatment booked the same day.
