What It Is
It relaxes movement, not your face
It is botulinum toxin, used in small, precise doses. It temporarily reduces the signal from nerve to muscle in the treated area, so the muscle relaxes and the line it creates softens. Skin and untreated muscles are not affected.
It works on movement lines, the ones that appear when you frown, raise your brows or smile. It does very little for lines that stay when your face is still, for lost volume or for texture. Those need a different treatment, and we will tell you which.
At Skin Lab Clinic, conservative dosing is the default. If you want to keep some lift in your brows or warmth in your smile, that is planned into the dose.

Where Botox makes the difference
Most people start with one or two areas. Every area is assessed with your face moving, not at rest.
Forehead lines
Horizontal lines from raising the brows, dosed carefully so the brow does not drop.
Frown lines
The vertical lines between the brows, often called the elevens.
Crow's feet
Lines at the outer corners of the eyes, softened rather than erased so your smile still reads.
Bunny lines
The small creases across the bridge of the nose when you scrunch or laugh.
Lip flip
A small dose along the upper lip border, so the lip shows a little more at rest.
Jaw and neck
For jaw clenching and vertical neck bands. Assessed individually before anything is agreed.
Results vary from person to person. Lines that are deep at rest may soften but rarely disappear with injections alone.

What the 30 minutes involves
You frown, raise your brows and smile while the Practice's licensed provider watches how each muscle moves.
Areas, units and the total are confirmed with you before anything is prepared.
Very fine injections at mapped points. It takes a few minutes and usually feels like a brief pinch.
Stay upright for four hours, do not rub the area, and skip heavy exercise and saunas for the rest of the day.
Good to know before you book

Treatment is charged per unit, and the number of units depends on which areas you treat, how strong those muscles are and how much movement you want to keep. A flat price before seeing your face would be a guess.
One area needs a modest number of units; several areas cost proportionally more. Once your dose is known, repeat visits are easy to budget.

Will I look frozen?

Can Botox fix lines I have when my face is still?
