Injectable hydrationSkin Booster Injections in Manhattan, NYC
Priced at consultation 60 Minutes
Skin boosters in NYC are micro-injections that hydrate and improve skin quality from within, without adding volume or changing your shape. They suit skin that looks dull, dry or crepey even with a good routine, and the result builds gradually over a short course.
Medical treatment provided by Michael Meighen, MD, NY, PLLC, a professional practice owned by licensed physicians.
What It Is
Hydration that goes in, not on
Creams sit on the surface. This treatment places hydrating, skin-conditioning ingredients into the dermis, the layer underneath, through a series of tiny injections across the treatment area.
They are not dermal fillers. Filler adds structure in one place; a booster spreads through the skin to improve how it looks and feels: smoother, more hydrated and more elastic. Nothing about your face shape changes.
Because results build over several weeks, boosters at Skin Lab Clinic are planned as a short course rather than a one-off.
Boosters or something else?
| Concern | Usually best | Why | At Skin Lab |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dull, dry, crepey skin | Boosters | Improves hydration and skin quality | By consultation |
| Lost volume, hollows | Dermal fillers | Restores structure in one area | Priced per syringe |
| Lines from movement | Botox | Relaxes the muscle making the line | Priced per unit |
| Glow for an event this week | Glass Skin Medical Facial | Visible the same day, no injections | $299, 60 min |
What It Treats
Skin quality, not shape
Boosters are for how your skin looks and feels. These are the concerns people bring to us most.
Dull, dehydrated skin
Skin that looks flat and tired even when you moisturise every day.
Crepey cheeks
Fine, papery lines across the cheeks that show more when you smile.
Neck and décolletage
Thin, dry skin on the neck and chest, which creams struggle to reach.
Around the eyes
Fine dryness lines where the skin is thinnest, assessed carefully before treatment.
Makeup that sits badly
Foundation that settles into texture or looks patchy by midday.
Winter dryness
Manhattan radiator heat and cold wind leave many clients' skin tight and dry for months.
Results are gradual and vary from person to person. If another treatment would suit your concern better, we will say so.
Your Appointment
What the 60 minutes involves
The Practice's licensed provider reviews your skin, history and goals, then explains the product, number of sessions and cost before anything is given.
Topical numbing goes on while the injection points are mapped across the area.
A series of tiny injections. Most people feel brief stinging rather than pain, and it takes a few minutes.
Small raised bumps are normal and usually settle within a day. You leave with written aftercare and your next session date.
Good to know before you book
- Leave at least a week before an important event
- Come without makeup on the area if you can
- Results build over weeks, not on the day
- Two to three sessions, a few weeks apart, is typical
- Tell us about blood thinners, supplements and recent treatments
Need a glow this week instead? A Glass Skin Medical Facial gives a same-day result.
What We Use
Chosen for your skin, not from a menu
This is a family of treatments rather than one product. The two main types are hyaluronic acid boosters, which draw in and hold water for hydration and smoothness, and regenerative boosters, which focus on repair and resilience in thin or stressed skin.
Your provider chooses the product, the number of injection points and the spacing between sessions based on your skin. Product availability and suitability are confirmed at your consultation, and the price is given before treatment.
How a course usually runs
- Two to three sessions, a few weeks apart
- Gradual change over the weeks after each session
- Maintenance sessions, spaced from how your skin responds
Is It Right For You
Who books boosters, and who should wait
Deciding between boosters, filler or a facial? A $150 consultation is applied to same-day treatment.
Usually a good fit
- Dull, dehydrated skin despite a good moisturiser
- Fine, crepey lines on the cheeks, neck or around the eyes
- You want better skin without changing your face shape
- You were told you need filler but do not want more volume
- You are happy with a gradual result over a few weeks
Wait, or ask first, if
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- There is an infection, cold sore or active breakout in the area
- You have reacted to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine before
- You take blood thinners or have an autoimmune condition
Recovery
Small bumps today, better skin in weeks
Downtime is minimal. Most people go back to work the same day.
Small bumps at the injection points, sometimes a little redness. Skip makeup for the rest of the day.
Bumps settle. Occasional small bruises can take a few more days to fade.
Hydration and smoothness improve gradually, building further with each session.
Aftercare that actually matters
Skip saunas, steam rooms and hot workouts for 48 hours, and avoid strong actives like retinol and acids for a few days. Do not massage the treated area unless you are told to.
Daily SPF protects the result, all year round in New York. Call us if anything feels unusual; we would rather hear about it early.

Common Questions
Injectable hydration, answered honestly
What is the difference between skin boosters and dermal fillers?
Fillers restore structure and volume in a specific area. Boosters spread through the skin to improve hydration, smoothness and elasticity without changing shape. If volume is your concern, dermal fillers are the better fit.
How much do skin boosters cost in NYC?
Treatment at Skin Lab is priced at consultation, based on the product and amount your skin needs. You are given the price before any treatment, and you can decide not to go ahead.
How many sessions will I need?
Two to three sessions a few weeks apart is typical, followed by maintenance. Your provider gives you a specific number at your assessment.
When will I see a difference?
Gradually, over the weeks after treatment rather than on the day. The change builds with each session in the course.
Do skin booster injections hurt?
Topical numbing is applied first. Most people feel brief stinging at each point, and the injections themselves take a few minutes.
What is the downtime?
Small bumps that settle within about 24 hours, and occasional bruising. Leave at least a week before an important event.
Can boosters be combined with other treatments?
Often, yes, with sensible spacing. They are commonly paired with Botox or a medical facial. Your provider plans the order and timing at your assessment.
Who performs the treatment?
Performed by a licensed provider of Michael Meighen, MD, NY, PLLC, the professional practice that provides medical treatments at Skin Lab. If boosters are not right for you, you will be told at the assessment.
