The Platinum is our La Prairie Skin Caviar facial at its fullest: 90 unhurried minutes combining everything in the Advanced with a full microneedling pass. It is the session clients in Manhattan book before weddings, shoots and milestones, or when they want the most our facials can do.

The full ritual, with nothing left out
Ninety minutes gives every step of the Advanced the time it deserves, then adds a needling pass to stimulate collagen. La Prairie's Skin Caviar runs through the whole session, and after resurfacing and needling, those formulations reach further than they can on untreated skin.
Most people book it for an occasion, or once they have had the Advanced and want the top tier.
It is the most complete facial at Skin Lab Clinic, and the one we plan most carefully.

How your 90 minutes run
Your skin is assessed under examination light and the needling areas are mapped. Depth is set by your assessment, not a template.
Double cleanse, hydrodermabrasion and the resurfacing pass, as in the Advanced.
A full-face pass under topical numbing, done in sections and explained as you go. You can pause at any point.
Skin Caviar on treated skin, the collagen mask, LED recovery while you rest, then brightening, SPF and a written two-week plan.

Downtime and Results
Book it two weeks before the date
The Platinum has more downtime than the Signature or Advanced, because of the needling. Here is how it usually goes.
Redness like mild sunburn, with some warmth or tightness the first evening. Most people are comfortable in makeup by day two.
Light flaking may appear. The glow is clearest from here.
Collagen keeps building. This is when to judge the full result.
It is not a monthly treatment. Two to three Platinum sessions a year, with the Signature in between, suits most people.

Getting Ready
Before your appointment
- Pause retinol and strong acids for five days
- Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for a week
- Tell us about medications, allergies and any metal implants in the face
- Book at least two weeks before an important date
After your appointment
- Barrier cream and SPF only for 48 hours
- No saunas, steam, hot workouts or swimming for two days
- Do not pick or scrub any flaking skin
- Skip actives for a week, then reintroduce slowly

The Platinum, answered honestly
Is the Platinum worth $899?
If your goals are texture, collagen or getting ready for an event, yes: it is the most complete session we offer. If your skin is simply tired, the Signature will do the job, and we will tell you so.
How long does it take?
90 minutes. The time goes to doing each stage properly, including the needling pass and LED recovery.
Does the microneedling hurt?
Topical numbing is applied first. Most people describe it as intense in places rather than painful. It is done in sections, and you can pause whenever you need to.
What is the downtime?
More than the Signature or Advanced. Expect redness like mild sunburn for one to two days and possible light flaking on day three. Book at least two weeks before an important date.
How often should I book the Platinum?
Two to three times a year suits most people, with the Signature in between for maintenance. Your aesthetician sets the interval from how your skin responds.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Microneedling does not target pigment and is generally well tolerated across skin tones. The resurfacing method is chosen at your analysis, and daily SPF matters even more afterwards.
Can I combine it with Botox or fillers?
Not on the same day. Botox and fillers are usually spaced about two weeks from a Platinum. They are provided by Michael Meighen, MD, NY, PLLC, whose licensed provider advises on timing.
Is this a good pre-wedding facial?
Yes, it is the facial most often booked before weddings. Book it at least two weeks before the day, and ideally plan a Signature closer to the date for a final glow.
